Job description:	Develop test capabilities to support research and development (R&D) and production test requirements. Provide R&D efforts to enhance current products and develop new technologies and products. Evaluate and develop improved techniques for the control of R&D activities. Act as a liaison with external parties on matters relating to the procurement of services and materials for the company R&D activities. Develop proof-of-concept solutions to support various project requirements.
Academic Degree	Level of degree required: Masters degree or equivalent Acceptable degree fields: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science, Computing and Information Science, or related.
Alternative Requirements	Will also accept a Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science, Computing and Information Science, or related and two years of experience in the job offered as an R&D Software Engineer.
Special job requirements	Academic background or work experience to include: ASP.NET 2.0, C#, Oracle 9.1, MS SQL Server 2000/2005, and Web Services.

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for delivering high quality software solutions. This individual should be a self-starter, capable of designing, coding, integrating, and adhering to software quality standards for all software products.

REQUIREMENTS & TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in product development.
• Ability to interface with customers to develop and review requirements and plans.
• Adopt changing industry standards.
• Ability to create proof-of-concept solutions, supported by study of existing solutions.
• Ability to develop technical documents related to SDLC.

At a minimum, candidates must have extensive experience working with the following technologies:

• ASP, .Net, C#, SQL, IIS, Javascript, CSS
• RDBMS - SQL and/or Oracle
• SSO/data integration technologies
• Windows, Unix, Linux, Apache
• Software development lifecycle and best practices
• Subversion or any version control software
• Performance tuning and development of scalable solutions

Responsibilities include:

• Review, understand, and provide feedback on functional requirements.
• Experience with continuous integration and daily builds
• Propose technical designs from functional requirements
• Estimate work hours required to implement a technical design
• Develop, test, and debug new functionality, and maintain/enhance existing functionality in .NET/C#
• Comply with existing processes, including requirements for source control and documentation
• Using Microsoft Visio, Word, and Excel to produce documentation

Individual must be:

• Skilled in .NET/C#
• Able to create technical designs from functional requirements and estimate the work they require
• Willing to take on challenges
• Able to multi-task on several projects simultaneously
